Ah, the Maxi-pad. Just a rumor? or a hard fact known to the author? You decide.

Sometimes I like to predict new secret products that I think Apple is about to announce, and since I'm always wrong, I like to post my theories so people can lampoon my foolishness in the future.

I've been thinking about the MacBook Air, and the iPhone and I see a convergence between the two.

The New Maxi-pad!

It would be nice to have a larger, touch-pad type device to control the TV, surf the web, or do a video chat. Something with more power and a larger screen than a pocket-ready iPhone, but still portable like a tablet PC.

Trouble is, you have to have a login and the idea of multiple user accounts to support personal applications like Chat or even email.

The iPhone is 'single user' in this respect - I don't 'log in' as it were, rather ingeniously the iPhone syncs my account information from my computer and remains personal to me, no login required.

The Maxi-pad would have to be multi-user - but logging in without a keyboard is a drag!

Imagine a tablet with multi-touch and the single mechanical "Home" button, just like the iPhone.

What if the little "Home" button also had a Biometric Fingerprint ID which would automatically select the user account and log you right in.

Remember folks, you read it here first...
